3 Ways to stay in shape this holiday season

The holidays are here and you know what that means… hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, and a whole ton of food. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t stay heathy and fit this holiday season! With a little bit of work and some dedication you can enjoy the holidays and still be happy with the way you look for the New Year. Here are 3 tips on how you can stay in shape this holiday season:

Stay Active

Just because you are trying to stay in shape doesn’t mean that you can’t still enjoy all that the holidays have to offer. Just remember that although it may seem hard to get yourself outside with the cold weather you have to stay active. Try some outdoor activities like ice skating and walking around your local Christmas market. That way, you are getting your exercise while still keeping up with the holiday cheer.

Join a Gym

If you haven’t found a gym that is right for you, now might be the time to shop around. Many gyms have holiday specials that remove any activation fees. So, you can save money and go burn off the Christmas cookies that you ate at the office this morning. Don’t worry, if you can’t make it to the gym you can always make it easy on yourself and download our 28 day workout program.

Meal Plan

This doesn’t mean you have to go crazy and count your macros, unless you want to. But, it might be a good idea to plan ahead if you have a certain goal you want to reach or maintain. Sometimes it can be as easy as knowing you might be eating a lot on the day of your holiday, and opting to having a lighter week instead. Try getting your fruits and veggies in during the week and don’t eat too many sweets. That way, the holiday you celebrate feels like a cheat day instead of a cheat week. Then again, it is the holidays so don’t beat yourself up if you can’t help yourself with all the delicious goodies.

Staying in shape for the holidays doesn’t seem so hard if you follow these 3 steps, does it? Stay focused and dedicated but also have fun and enjoy the festivities because it only happens once a year. And, don’t forget to make one of your New Year’s resolutions a healthier and happier you.
